Christmas Classroom Party Printables: A Simple Plan

A classroom holiday party usually happens in about an hour, with 20 to 30 excited kids, a few volunteer parents and a teacher who still has to get everyone on the bus afterward. Printables are a quiet hero here: they cost very little, they need no setup, and they give kids something to do with their hands. This plan works for a Christmas party or a general winter party.

Check the ground rules first

Before you plan anything, ask the teacher three questions:

Respecting these up front saves awkward conversations later and makes sure every child can join in.

Use stations, not one big activity

Thirty kids doing one activity together tends to fall apart. Split the class into four groups and rotate every 10 to 12 minutes. A parent or the teacher stays with each station.

  1. Coloring station. One coloring page per child, crayons or colored pencils. Detailed folk-art pages keep older kids busy; give younger ones pages with bigger shapes.
  2. Game station. Picture bingo works for pre-readers and readers alike. Use candy-free markers like cereal, buttons or paper squares if food is restricted.
  3. Puzzle station. Word searches and mazes. Have a few extra copies, because fast finishers will ask for another.
  4. Craft or card station. Kids write a card or decorate a gift tag for a family member. This is a calm station to end on.

Leave five minutes at the end for clean-up, and five at the start for instructions.

How much to print

A simple rule: one sheet per child per station, plus about 20% extra for mistakes, new students and fast finishers. For bingo, print as many unique cards as the set provides and have kids share or play in pairs if there are more kids than cards. Cut calling cards ahead of time at home, not in class.

Printing tips: use "Actual size" or 100% scale so pages line up, print in grayscale if your school printer limits color, and print a test page before you run 30 copies. If a page has small text, check it is still readable.

A note on permissions

Many printables are sold for "personal use" only. If you're a teacher or room parent, check that the license allows classroom use before you print 30 copies. When in doubt, ask the seller.

Ready-made option

The Merry Sets Series 1 Complete Set ($12) is licensed for personal and classroom use and covers most of the stations above in one download: 12 folk-art coloring pages, the Family Christmas Games Pack (8 unique bingo cards with calling cards, a scavenger hunt, 2 word searches, 2 mazes and Would You Rather cards), a Santa kit and a Christmas Eve box kit with gift tags, in US Letter and A4.
